We are happy to announce the appointment of our newest board member, Marc Safier, C.P.A.

“The board and I are delighted to have Marc on our team as treasurer.  His insights are going to be valuable to us going forward as we look into new international partnerships and expand our programming in 2013 and beyond,” said President and CEO Lisa Purdy.

Mr. Safier retired in April from his 26-year role as President of The Marshall Company, a builder’s hardware supplier.  He was also formerly the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Decatur Foods in Cleveland and Controller and Chief Financial Officer of The Mill-Rose Company in Mentor.  Mr. Safier holds an MBA from John Carroll University and is eager to lend his financial expertise to CIPUSA.

Impressed and intrigued by CIP’s initiatives, Mr. Safier plans to contribute even further to the organization’s mission of promoting international understanding by serving as a host family to future program participants. He and his wife Linda Safier live in Chagrin Falls and have three daughters.

Mr. Safier joins an eleven-member board and six-member advisory council that oversees CIPUSA’s finances, policies and practices, strategic planning and worldwide outreach.
