History

CIF, the Council of International Fellowship, traces its roots back over 60 years when Dr. Henry B. Ollendorff embarked on a mission to foster global harmony among individuals from diverse backgrounds. He founded the Cleveland International Program (CIP) on the advice of the U.S. government, aimed at nurturing young leaders and social workers in Germany, fostering international understanding, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

Following the initial CIP program, participants expressed a collective aspiration to establish an alumni association. This network aimed to share professional and personal experiences, sustain connections, build professional networks, and enable more individuals to engage in similar international programs.

In 1964, the Council of International Fellowship (CIF) was established in Germany, embodying the principles set forth by Dr. Ollendorff. Over time, CIF expanded its reach, spawning additional National Branches worldwide. Today, CIF proudly stands with more than 35 National Branches and dedicated contact persons spanning the globe.
